BBQ Chat

Our private chat, voice and video server.

1. Set up your computer (in your browser)

  1. Go to chat.hiddensausaugeunderbbq.tech
  2. Click Sign in, then Continue with Google.
  3. Pick your Google account. You're in.

2. Or: use the desktop app (Mac / PC)

Do this instead of step 1 if you'd rather have an app than a browser tab.

  1. Download Element for Mac or Windows: element.io/download, install it and open it.
  2. Click Sign in.
  3. Next to the homeserver (it says matrix.org), click Edit.
  4. Delete matrix.org and type exactly: hiddensausaugeunderbbq.tech then click Continue.
  5. Click Continue again. Your browser opens. Click Continue with Google and pick your account.
  6. Your browser hands you back to the app. You're in.

3. Set up your phone

Do step 1 or 2 first. Your phone signs in by scanning a code from your computer.

  1. Install Element X: iPhone · Android
  2. On your computer (browser or app): click your avatar (top left) → All settings → Sessions → Link new device. A QR code appears.
  3. On your phone, open Element X and tap Sign in with QR code.
  4. Scan the code on your computer screen and confirm. Done.
